NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Greater Grace Temple Community Church in East Nashville was put on lockdown after shots rang out outside.

Pastor Breonus Mitchell tells media outlets that a service was being held when he and churchgoers heard the shots shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday. The church stayed on lockdown with nearly 300 churchgoers inside for more than an hour.

Police say when they arrived, they found more than a dozen shell casings and found a car with multiple bullet holes in the hood and shattered windows. They did not find any suspects.

The church did not get hit and no one was injured.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Nashville police.
