A man who escaped from the Hamilton County Jail just three months ago has done it again - this time from Moccasin Bend.

Authorities are on the lookout for Dustin Adams, 26, who escaped from the mental health institute early Friday night, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

He has prior charges for theft and firearm possession but has not been charged for any violent crimes.

Adams was sent for a mental evaluation Dec. 6 and was reported missing just after 7:30 p.m. Friday, the release stated. He now is wanted on warrants through Hamilton County.

In September when he was being held at the Hamilton County jail, he and another inmate, Dylon Lafollette, 19, broke a window in their second-floor cell, unscrewed a security screen and escaped into downtown Chattanooga.

Lafollette was captured hours later, but Adams wasn't captured until the next day in Fannin County, Ga.

The sheriff's office news release said he had been jailed on five counts of theft of property; one count each of burglary, weapons possession and escape, and that Bradley County, Tenn., and Fannin County, Ga., had placed holds on him.

The Times Free Press previously reported that in the time after his escape, Adams was suspected to have committed numerous additional crimes including multiple counts of attempted auto theft, auto theft, auto burglary and multiple fraudulent uses of credit/debit cards.

He is not believed to be a threat, but anyone who sees him is encouraged to contact the hamilton County Sheriff's Office or CPD immediately.
