The Tennessee Education Lottery Corp. today announced its highest-ever monthly instant game sales total, with $140.7 million in March sales.

The previous monthly sales record was $126.6 million in March 2016, according to a news release.

"Our diverse, fun selection of instant games is meeting with great success," said Rebecca Hargrove, lottery president and CEO. "Our March launch of Mighty Jumbo Bucks proved especially popular and led the way to the spectacular sales."

Hargrove said the record is "great news for the education programs funded by the Lottery, which continue to grow."

Since Jan. 20, 2004, the Tennessee Education Lottery has raised more than $4 billion for designated education programs, including college grants and scholarships, after-school programs and Tennessee Promise.
