Firefighters are working to extinguish a woods fire that has been burning for 2 hours in the 1500 block of Hot Water Road, according to a release from Hamilton County Emergency Services.
The fire was reported at 4 p.m. and responders have been working the scene since 4:15 p.m.
It grew to 3 acres before it was contained, according to the release.
A resident was burning a pile when the fire spread into the woods.
The resident had a burn permit and took necessary precautions to avoid such an incident, according to the release, but several hot embers spread beyond their control.
