UPDATE: Victim identified in Hampton Inn homicide

UPDATE: The victim in Monday's early morning homicide has been identified.

The victim in the shooting is 30-year-old Isaac J. Queen.

ORIGINAL STORY: One person is dead after a shooting on the 7000 block of Shallowford Road early Monday morning.

Police responded to the Hampton Inn at 12:51 a.m. on a report of shots fired and found the victim lying on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a news release.

The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

No suspect information is available at this time and the victim's identity has not been released, but members of the violent crimes bureau are investigating all leads.

Monday's death marks the 28th homicide in Chattanooga this year. At this point in 2016, the city had seen 24 homicides.
