Chattanooga police arrest attempted rape suspect

Chattanooga police are asking the public for help identifying this person suspected of an attempted rape in the Martin Luther King neighborhood Tuesday, Dec. 12. Chattanooga police are asking the public for help identifying this person suspected of an attempted rape in the Martin Luther King neighborhood Tuesday, Dec. 12. Chattanooga police have taken into custody the suspect in an attempted rape that occurred Tuesday.

Thomas Lee Carr, 28, was arrested this morning and charged with attempted rape.

"I want to thank the numerous community members who provided tips that helped Chattanooga Police Officers quickly identify, locate and arrest this dangerous man," Special Victims Unit Sergeant Scott Bales said. "Cooperation and willingness to help others is what makes our city a safer place for everyone."
