A Whitfield County deputy sheriff has been jailed in Bartow County on charges of child molestation, false imprisonment and cruelty to children, according to a news release.
Justin M. Litzenberg, 23, of Brothers Lane in Dalton, was arrested at his apartment without incident, according to the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office release.
Litzenberg has worked for the sheriff's office for approximately 2 1/2 years, the release stated.
The warrants served on Litzenberg were taken out by an investigator for the Bartow County Sheriff's Office. He was taken to Bartow County and has been placed on administrative leave without pay in Whitfield, where the sheriff's office will conduct an administrative investigation into the circumstances of his arrest, the release stated.
