The CHI Memorial Foundation raised a record $390,000 at its 12th annual Pink! gala to benefit the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center, foundation officials said Monday.

Over the past 12 years, the fundraiser has provided some $3.2 million to the breast cancer center at CHI Memorial, according to a press release.

"Pink! is a celebration of life for breast cancer patients and survivors. The money raised at this event ensures the Chattanooga community has access to the most advanced breast cancer technology and treatments available," said CHI Memorial Foundation President Jennifer Nicely.

Money raised at the event has helped the breast center purchase an additional device to perform 3D mammograms, which gives the radiologist a more complete picture of breast tissue. Funds are also used to pay the costs of CHI Memorial's two health coaches which travel around 24 East Tennessee and five North Georgia counties. Last year some 4,100 women received mammogram screenings on the coaches, according to the press release.

This year's event was chaired by Jeff and Rona Renee Jackson and Hodgen and Amber Mainda.
