Chattanooga has been ranked 30th in the top 50 worst U.S. cities to live in, according to a recent list published by 24/7 Wall St.

The Delaware corporation cited stagnant job growth and high crime rates as reasons for the rating.

"While total U.S. employment grew by 4 percent between 2013 and 2015, employment in the city increased by just 0.4 percent over the same period," the article reads. "There were nearly 1,000 violent crimes and about 5,900 property crimes in the city per 100,000 residents in 2015."

24/7 Wall St., LLC, which runs a financial news and opinion company, determined the worst cities to live in based on data such as crime rates, employment growth, access to restaurants and attractions, educational attainability and housing affordability, according to its website.

Chattanooga ranked above cities such as Philadelphia, Indianapolis and Atlanta, but below Knoxville and Memphis.

Detroit, Mich., was ranked as the worst city to live in.
