A 26-year-old Chattanooga man is recovering from a gunshot wound sustained in a shooting Friday in the 700 block of East 51st Street.
Rashard Crabtree had been taken to a local hospital in a private vehicle for treatment of a what was described as a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, Chattanooga Police Department spokeswoman Elisa Myzal said in a statement released around noon today.
The call came in at 5:18 p.m. Friday, Myzal said. Crabtree told police he was shot as he was exiting a vehicle on East 51st Street.
The scene on East 51st Street is off of Wilson Road less than a mile from the Georgia state line.
Myzal said there was no suspect information and officers were unable to locate a crime scene.
Members of the department's Violent Crime Bureau are following up all leads in the case.
