A second man has been arrested in connection with an October shooting on Glass Street that almost killed one man and endangered a woman and her 2-year-old child.

Marquel Morris, 26, was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Saturday, joining Prandell Haynes, 26, on charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault. Haynes was arrested in December.

On Oct. 13, police were dispatched to a reported shooting on the 2400 block of Glass Street just before 2 p.m. When they arrived, they found Thomas Williams Jr. with a gunshot wound to his face.

The other victim, Darniqua Shibley, said she and Williams were in a car with their daughter at a store when a light blue Toyota Camry pulled up.

She recognized the two men in the car as Haynes and Morris because she had previously hung out with them. She also told police Haynes was angry with her because she had decided to press charges on him after he stole her gun.

She said she recognized the men and tried to leave, but they ran behind the store and began firing at her car as she was pulling out of the parking lot. Shibley said at least 20 shots were fired, but only Williams was hit.

She later identified both men in a photo lineup.

Haynes is a convicted felon, according to court documents, and is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Morris does not have a handgun carry permit.

Morris has been charged with multiple offenses in Hamilton County since 2009 including aggravated robbery, assault and theft.
