UPDATE: Detectives believe the teenager and young man who died Sunday morning in Ringgold overdosed on drugs, Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk said in a news release today. The investigators will wait for results from an autopsy before reaching a conclusion.

The mother of 16-year-old Montana Whitten said she found him and 20-year-old Adam Ahlyege dead in her son's bedroom. She said the door had been locked, but she forced it open.

Someone called 911 at 9:41 a.m., according to the release, and paramedics confirmed that Whitten and Ahylege were dead. Sheriff's detectives and members of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are handling the case. They sent the men's bodies to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta.

ORIGINAL STORY: RINGGOLD, Ga. - Neighbors living along Post Oak Road in Ringgold said they didn't know much about the people who lived in the home where two people were found dead Sunday.

Nearby neighbors who asked not to be identified, said they exchanged occasional greetings with the occupants of the yellow-painted frame home in the rural neighborhood. One neighbor said the occupants appeared nice and caused no trouble but kept to themselves.

The neighbor remembers the occupants had frequent visits from young people in a variety of cars.

On Sunday afternoon, no crime scene tape roped off the overgrown yard, and only one car sat in the driveway of the home.

Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was assisting his department with the investigation.

He didn't say how or when the bodies were discovered or provide any details about the investigation, and said the victims' identities would be released after the next of kin were notified.

Sisk said there were some indications in the home of a possible drug overdose, but added that an autopsy will be needed to determine the cause of death in each case.

No additional information was available before press time Sunday night.
