8-year-old boy in critical condition after Thursday night shooting; suspect arrested

An eight-year-old boy is in critical condition after a shooting in the 2100 block of Windsor Street Thursday night after 8 p.m.

The boy was riding in a vehicle with two other people when he sustained a single gunshot wound.

Authorities were able to obtain a person of interest and after determining probable cause, a suspect, 28-year-old Lebron Brown, was arrested.

Brown was transported to Hamilton County Jail, where he was booked.

Brown is charged with attempted first degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault.

Three people who were with Brown were arrested on unrelated charges and are in custody: Darius Woods, 21; Khavell Williams, 19; and Dedrick Lindsey, 23.

Police say the four suspects are validated gang members.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges may be added.
