VW sales climb in February on Chattanooga Passat

Volkswagen of America reported today that February sales rose 12.7 percent over the same month a year ago on higher results from its Chattanooga-made Passat.

Passat sales totaled 6,114 units, an increase of 39.6 percent over February 2016, the company said.

Tiguan sport utility vehicle sales were 3,425 units, 5.5 percent over February 2016 and marking the best February ever for the vehicle, VW reported.

Golf SportWagen sales, which include the all-new Alltrack, totaled 2,094 units, an increase of 229.8 percent.

Volkswagen of America's total February sales were 25,145 vehicles.

For the first two months of the year, VW sales are up 14.75 percent to 48,655, according to the automaker.
