Two Chattanooga City Council incumbents and one newcomer faced no opposition in the Chattanooga municipal election.

Council members Ken Smith and Carol Berz, who represent Districts 3 and 6, respectively, ran uncontested. Darrin Ledford was the only candidate to seek the District 4 seat when Larry Grohn announced his candidacy for Chattanooga mayor.

The trio each had several hundred votes in early tallies.

Write-in candidates also received several dozen votes.

The votes are still being counted for the other candidates, several of whom have been caught in tight races. If current trends continue, at least two city council elections could be decided in a runoff election.
