Two teens face charges in East Tennessee high-speed chase

Two teenage boys are facing charges of auto theft after allegedly stealing a van from the Smoky Mountain Children's Home in Sevierville and leading authorities on a pursuit into Hamilton County.

The boys, ages 14 and 17, stole the 15-passenger van from the group home for troubled youth about 7:40 p.m. Sunday night, Sevierville Police Department spokesman Bob Stahlke said. Each teen faces one count of auto theft, he said.

The van briefly was spotted heading west on Interstate 40, Stahlke, before it continued into Knox County and then onto Interstate 75.
