An employee at Daisy Elementary School has been indicted on charges she stole more than $60,000 from the school's child care program.

Sharon Wynn, 49, turned herself in and was booked at the Hamilton County Jail today, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's spokesman Matt Lea said the theft was discovered in an audit of the child care program for the period of September 2011 to June 2016.

Schools officials handed the audit over to detectives, who discovered a pattern of thefts. Lea said up to $200 at a time was taken from the child care program's deposit.

Wynn, of Soddy-Daisy, was charged with theft over $60,000 and a bond of $15,000 was set, Lea said.
