Chattanooga firefighters extinguished a house fire today about 12:30 p.m. on the 4900 block of Cameron Lane in Brainerd, according to a Chattanooga Fire Department news release.
The homeowner said he returned home to see smoke coming from his roof top vents. He did not go inside the house and instead called 911, according to the report.
Firefighters responded to the call and quickly extinguished the fire.
No one inside the house at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The fire displaced three people, and they are being assisted by volunteers with the American Red Cross. Chattanooga police, Hamilton County Emergency Services and EPB were also on scene to provide assistance.
The dollar loss was estimated at $30,000.
A fire investigator has ruled the cause of the fire accidental, most likely from an electrical malfunction.
