Chattanooga police investigating man's death Saturday as a homicide

The death of Marcus Bradfield on the 3800 block of Brainerd Road on Saturday night has been ruled a homicide, based on findings by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner, according to a Chattanooga Police Department news release.

Bradfield, 20, was walking with another man when shots rang out, according to a witness. Bradfield died by the time police arrived shortly before midnight.

The other man was unharmed.

Not long after, police responded to another shooting on the 600 block of Dodds Avenue.

Trevor Baldwin, 23, was taken to a local hospital with a single gunshot wound to the hand.

Baldwin said he was walking to his car with some friends when shots were fired at them by a passing vehicle, as previously reported by the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
