The Blue Jays, like many Braves opponents lately, weren't hitting many of Jaime Garcia's pitches hard on Tuesday. Walks were the main issue again for the Braves left-hander.

Braves outfielder Matt Kemp and rookie shortstop Dansby Swanson helped make sure those free passes didn't matter.

Kemp's four RBIs and Swanson's go-ahead homer in the seventh inning lifted the Braves to a 9-5 victory at the Rogers Centre. The Braves (18-22) swept the two-game interleague series and have won four of five games since losing six in a row.

First baseman Freddie Freeman provided Garcia some leeway with a two-run homer run for a 5-2 lead in the fifth inning. Garcia gave some of it back when he surrendered a two-out, solo home run to Kevin Pillar in the bottom of the fifth and the Blue Jays (17-23) erased the rest of the deficit in the sixth.

Braves manager Brian Snitker replaced Garcia after he issued his fourth walk of the game, to Justin Smoak with one out in the sixth. Reliever Jose Ramirez gave up a double to Travis and Barney hit an RBI single that trimmed the deficit to 5-4. Ezequiel Carrera's RBI ground out tied the game.

One of the two runs was charged to Garcia. Swanson put the Braves ahead 6-5 when he sent reliever Danny Barnes' 0-1 change-up out to left-center field for his third home run this season.

The Braves essentially finished off the Blue Jays by scoring three runs with two outs in the ninth. After Phillips grounded into a double play, Kemp hit a two-run double and Nick Markakis followed with a single that scored him.

The Braves pounded out 15 hits after they had 13 in the series opener, including four by Kemp. Phillips hit two doubles and scored twice and Kemp's two-run single put the Braves ahead in the first inning.
