Chris Blue, the Knoxville singer who attended Tennessee Temple University for three years, was crowned the winner of "The Voice" Tuesday night.

Blue, a praise and worship leader in Knoxville, was the last of the 48 contestants chosen in the blind auditions at the beginning of Season 12.

Judge Alicia Keys chose him to fill the final spot on her team. She performed with him during Monday night's episode.

The original song written for Blue to sing in the finals secured the No. 1 spot on iTunes R&B Soul chart after Monday night's episode.

The third number he performed in the finals, Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation," came in at No. 8 on iTunes all-genre singles chart and No. 4 on the R&B chart.
