MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Leadoff-batter Kaylie Moore walked and next batter Aubrey Reed followed with a home run, sparking Meigs County to a four-run first inning on the way to an 8-2 victory over Summertown in the losers-bracket final of the TSSAA Class A state tournament at Starplex No. 4. The Lady Tigers advance to the final and will play Forrest, the team that dropped them to the losers bracket, today at 3 p.m. EDT. Should Meigs win, a second championship game would be played 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first one.
