Job-seekers apply during a job fair with Volkswagen staffing contractor Aerotek held at the Volkswagen Manufacturing Plant on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, in Chattanooga, Tenn. Aerotek is hiring to fill production slots for manufacturing Volkswagen's new Atlas SUV.

The staffing agency Aerotek is hosting a career fair Saturday to hire more than 200 additional production employees to work at the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga.

Aerotek, which has already hired 1,000 employees for jobs openings at the plant since December, said the job fair is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday at the Volkswagen Conference Center in Chattanooga.

Chattanooga plant spokesman Scott Wilson said earlier this month that the Chattanooga factory has increased its staff to about 3,450 people assembling the Atlas and the Passat midsize sedan, which is a new high number for the site. He said hiring will continue until about the time that Atlas production reaches its peak.

Aerotek said it is searching for production employees "who are reliable and prepared to work." The company offers extensive training to work in assembly jobs at the VW plant.

Job requirements for the new Aerotek jobs include:

· Work rotating shifts (Rotate every week between 2 shifts)

· Perform repetitive movements while continuously standing or sitting

· Meet background check and urine/hair drug screen requirements.

Applicants who are unable to attend the job fair can apply online at www.AerotekTN.com.
