Chattanooga State to host three TN Reconnect information sessions

Chattanooga State Community College will host three information sessions for its Tennessee Reconnect program in coming weeks.

The sessions will be held in the Student Support Center located in the Library building on its Main Campus.

Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Thursday, Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 2 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Additionally, sessions will be offered at the Dayton Site, 200 4th Avenue in Dayton on Tuesday, Nov. 7 from 3-5 p.m., and at the Kimball Site, 2100 Main Street in Kimball on Thursday, Nov. 9 from 3-5 p.m. (CST).

No reservations are required for any session.

Reconnect is a part of the state's Drive to 55 initiative, through which Gov. Bill Haslam set the lofty goal of boosting the percentage of working-age residents with post-secondary degrees or certificates to 55 percent by the year 2025.

It's a product of the Tennessee Reconnect Act, which establishes a last-dollar scholarship for adults to attend a community college tuition-free.
