SWAT call in East Ridge ends with suspect's arrest

East Ridge police and SWAT team members were called to 3211 Blackhawk Trail on a report of an aggravated domestic assault.

A mother, Edlicia Oattes said her son, Kedarrian Higgins attempted to strike her in the face with a pipe and physically assaulted her.

When police arrived, Higgins would not answer the door or the phone. Officers attempted to call the house for nearly two hours, before SWAT was called in.

Higgins eventually answered the phone and agreed to come outside, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Higgins was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated assault.
