Single-car crash claims Virginia man's life

A single-car crash in DeKalb County, Ala., on Friday killed a Virginia man after the vehicle he was riding in left the road and overturned on Interstate 59.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency spokesman Chuck Daniel said in a statement that Ernest Lynn Barnhouse, 49, was killed when the Kia Sorento driven by Matthew Ray Abbott, 42, of Virginia, left the road and overturned. Abbott was injured while Barnhouse was pronounced dead at the scene, Daniel said.

The accident happened five miles south of Collinsville, Ala., around 9:55 p.m. on Friday, Daniel said.
