David Alan WootenThe Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has identified the man shot by police in an Aug. 14 confrontation on Rossville Bouleveard.
A news release named David Alan Wooten, 44, of Cleveland, Tenn. It said Wooten was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on unrelated charges.
The Aug. 14 incident took place in the 5000 block of Rossville Boulevard.
Chattanooga Police Department spokesman Rob Simmons said at the time the man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He said another crime scene was established on the 800 block of South Seminole Drive where the suspect's vehicle was found, police said.
Both Chattanooga and Rossville police officers made contact with the suspect on Rossville Boulevard. Shots were fired by police and the suspect was struck.
The Friday release from Capt. G.A. Bennett at the sheriff's office said the investigation continues.
