Ooltewah High School student struck by hit-and-run driver

An Ooltewah High School student was struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday afternoon, according to a release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

The student, a juvenile working for a landscape company, was weed-eating a ditch on the 5000 block of Snow Hill Road when they were hit. The student was then flown by a LifeForce helicopter to a local hospital, and their present condition is currently unknown.

The driver of the hit-and-run vehicle was arrested.

No names are being released at this time since the incident involves a juvenile and is currently being investigated.
