UPDATE: Police identify man injured in Tuesday night shooting in Chattanooga

UPDATE: The Chattanooga Police Department has identified the victim of a Tuesday night shooting that reportedly occurred at the 900 block of Dodson Avenue. Police initially reported that the incident occurred on Dodds Avenue.

Officers responded to a local hospital after Benitez Williams, 35, arrived with a gunshot wound about 8:10 p.m.

Officers were able to talk to Williams whose wounds are considered non-life-threatening.

More details will be released when they become available.

ORIGINAL STORY: Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting on the 900-1100 block of Dodds Avenue on Tuesday night.

Police spokesman Rob Simmons confirmed a person was injured and had been taken to a local hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening.

It is not yet clear what led up to the altercation.
