Parents of Hamilton County Schools students will now be able to register their students online with the launch of a digital registration process.

Kindergarten registration opens Monday, April 9 and will be available online through Friday, April 13. Parents can access the registration portal at: www.hcde.org/kreg. Parents of current Pre-K students in the district should have received information on registration, according to a news release.

Students in grades 1-12 will be able to register online starting July 11. Schools will provide codes to parents of students registering for those grades closer to the registration window, which will allow parents to login and ensure accuracy of the information available.

Items needed to register your child online include:

  • A copy of the child's birth certificate

  • Social security card

  • An up-to-date immunization/physical form

  • Two proof of residence documents, which could include: a current electric, water, gas, phone, or cable bill from within the last 60 days in the custodial/guardian's name

  • Parent identification

Parents can upload PDF versions of these documents or take pictures of them with a smartphone and upload them.

Schools will also hold kindergarten registration days on Wednesday, April 11 to assist parents with getting their children registered. Parents can also visit the Hamilton County Department of Education office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11 at 3074 Hickory Valley Road.

Pre-K applications will not be available online. Parents may apply for a slot in the system's Pre-K program on Wednesday, April 11. Application times for schools in the system with Pre-K classes may vary. More information is available on the district's website. Parents must provide proof of income and residence when submitting a Pre-K application, as slots are assigned based on income and availability.
