A suspect connected to nine auto burglaries in Bradley County's Ridgewood subdivision is now in custody, according to the Bradley County Sheriff's Office.

Joseph Lee Osterlund, 19, of Cleveland, Tenn., is charged with nine counts of auto burglary and three counts of theft under $1,000.

"I want to remind residents to take extra time after exiting a vehicle to be sure items of value are not in plain sight and to also double-check all vehicle doors to ensure they're locked," Sheriff Eric Watson said in a statement.

Osterlund is being held in the Bradley County Jail on a $46,000 appearance bond.
