Two arrested in Calhoun, Ga., on drug charges

Calhoun, Ga., police executing search warrants this week arrested two suspects and charged them with various drug offenses, a news release states.

A Wednesday search at 257 Henderson Bend Road yielded 3.2 pounds of methamphetamine, three firearms, a small amount of marijuana and $2,222 in cash. The other search took place at 61 Echota 1st Street. Both locations are in the city.

Arrested at the Henderson Bend Road address were Juan Carlos Perez-Velasquez and Joceline Jiminez. Both suspects were charged with trafficking in meth, possession of meth, three counts of possession of firearms during the commission of a felony, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, two counts of possession of pistols under the age of 21 and one count of possession of drug-related objects.

Both suspects are being held in the Gordon County Jail awaiting bond hearings.
