UPDATE: Chattanooga police have charged the driver in a hit-and-run that occurred Wednesday, April 26, on M.L. King Boulevard.

Desman Ware, 41, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving an unregistered vehicle, failure to render aid, failure to report accident, financial responsibility, driving on revoked suspended or cancelled license and failure to exercise due care.

Ware was driving the Cadillac that struck a woman crossing M.L. King Boulevard at the Houston Street intersection late Wednesday night.

The woman has not been identified. Her injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

Police say an anonymous tip and aid from the Chattanooga Housing Authority helped them find the driver.

A woman was crossing M.L. King Boulevard at the Houston Street intersection when a driver in a white older body style Cadillac with a blue top and blue side stripe hit her and kept driving, the department posted to Facebook.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A video obtained by WRCB-TV News shows the woman running across the street as the vehicle ran into her, sending her through the air and into the middle of the intersection. The driver did have a green light but appeared to fail to slow down or stop after the impact.
