A sandwich shop known as Sub Swap will open Tuesday in Hixson next to Owen Cyclery at 1920 Northpoint Blvd.
Cody Huckabee, a veteran restaurant manager who is general manager of the new 1,000-square-foot restaurant, said Sub Swap will offer catering, take out and dine-in options and will feature a variety of sub sandwiches made from six different meats, five different cheeses and four different types of bread.
"We're going to have quality food at a cheaper price than most other sub shops and we'll be offering discounts for veterans and seniors," Huckabee said. "There are over 10,000 cars a day go by this area so we think there is a strong market for a good, locally owned sub shop."
The 12-inch subs at the Sub Swap will be priced $5.99 (or $7.99 for a combo meal) and 6-inch subs will be offered for $3.99 (or $5.99 for a combo meal). The restaurant will also have bottled soft drinks, cookies, chips and brownies.
The restaurant will be open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and will initially employ 10 persons, including delivery drivers, Huckabee said.
