MADISONVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Tennessee say a fugitive who climbed over a razor wire fence surrounding the jail's recreation yard as a guard tried to grab his feet has been captured.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that Ricky Dale Dotson II was captured without incident in Athens, Tenn., on Monday after escaping from the county jail on Sunday.

Monroe County Sheriff Tommy J. Jones II has said a corrections officer attempted to grab Dotson's feet as he climbed. Officers gave chase, and additional personnel were called to assist.

Dotson was arrested Jan. 20 on an aggravated burglary charge and was due in court Feb. 20. It's unclear if he has a lawyer.
