Narcotics division foils attempt to smuggle meth, tobacco into Hamilton County Jail

Members of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Narcotics and Special Operations Division foiled an attempt to smuggle tobacco and methamphetamine ice into the Hamilton County Jail on Tuesday, Feb. 13, according to an HCSO news release.

Inmate Derrick Kitchens, along with Megan Beatty and Jon Vance, were charged with criminal conspiracy to smuggling contraband into a penal facility.

Beatty and Vance were also charged for possession of a controlled substance for resale.

This is an ongoing investigation and no further details are available at this time.
