The Hamilton County Trustee's office will be extending hours next week ahead of the Feb. 28 deadline to pay county property taxes.
A news release from Trustee Bill Hullander's office said the county courthouse and the Bonny Oaks annex offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 28. Regular office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Taxpayers may pay their taxes at any of the First Tennessee Bank branches with an original bill as well as on-line at hamiltontn.gov/trustee. The on-line payments will be processed by a third party processor and will include a convenience fee of 2.39% of the total taxes paid. The taxpayers that prefer to mail the tax payment will need to be postmarked no later than Feb. 28th to avoid additional interest charges.
