February 23rd, 2018 by Staff Report in Breaking News

UPDATE: Daisy Elementary School is all clear.

Public safety personnel checked out the building with a bomb dog brought in by the Chattanooga Police Department and found no device in the school.

Kids are now returning back to the school.

There will be normal dismissal procedures today.

ORIGINAL STORY: A bomb threat message was written on a wall today at Daisy Elementary School.

The school was evacuated immediately, and public safety personnel responded to inspect the building. The students and staff will remain outside the building until the facility is cleared by public safety officials.

The students were taken to the gym at Soddy-Daisy High and provided with food as they wait to reenter the building.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the fire department and Chattanooga police are all on scene.

CPD is waiting on a bomb dog to sweep the building.

A call was sent out to 432 families notifying them of the bomb threat.

A student found the message scrawled on the bathroom wall and reported it to a staff member, who then reported it to administration.

No one saw who wrote the message.

This is a developing story.
