ORIGINAL STORY: Steady and sometimes heavy rain Wednesday has triggered flood warnings to be issued for Hamilton and several surrounding counties, prompting a few area schools to delay opening Thursday.
As of 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, Grundy County Schools in Tennessee and Dade County Schools in Georgia are delaying the opening of school two hours.
Dalton High School will be closed Thursday after a teacher allegedly fired a weapon Wednesday at school. All other Dalton schools will operate on a normal schedule.
