A Murray County man died this morning after a fire destroyed his house.
Spencer Cantrell, 74, of Chatsworth, was smoking in his bed when his home at 74 Weaver Road caught fire, according to the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's office. The flames burned down the house.
In the first 10 days of this year, six people have died.
