Dalton police searching for man who allegedly stole $500 cookware set

Dalton police are looking for a man who is suspected of shoplifting a full set of cookware from the Belk department store at Walnut Square Mall, according to a news release.

At 3:32 p.m. on Jan. 12, a well-dressed man wearing a dark suit and blue tie was recorded on store surveillance walking into the store. Loss prevention staff told police that one minute later, the man walked out with a boxed set of cookware on his shoulder without paying for it.

The set is made up of 11 pieces of Calphalon brand contemporary hard anodized nonstick pots and pans and other cookware, valued at $500, according to the release.
