Help needed to retrieve wreaths at Chattanooga National Cemetery

Last month, hundreds of volunteers distributed more than 20,000 wreaths on headstones at the Chattanooga National Cemetery to honor and remember servicemen and women as part of the Wreaths Across America program.

But now, help is needed to remove those wreaths.

"First, we really appreciate each of the volunteers that either sponsored a wreath, attended our ceremony, or helped distribute wreaths in December," said Civil Air Patrol's 2nd Lt. Austen Roberts. " ... Now, we need volunteers to help us retrieve the wreaths and place them in dumpsters for disposal.

Help is needed at 9 a.m. Saturday at the cemetery. Written details will be provided at the gate. Volunteers are asked to proceed to the left and park in the grass lot across from the pavilion, not on the roads.
