Walden's Ridge Emergency Services firefighters battled a house fire Monday night on Signal Mountain, according to a news release from Hamilton County Emergency Services.
Firefighters were sent to the 2800 block of Taft Highway after a neighbor called 911 reporting the smell of smoke. Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputies were first on the scene and reported a fully involved house fire.
Firefighters arrived minutes later and battled the fire to contain it to the single structure.
Walden's Ridge Emergency Services Deputy Chief Jim Gault said the old house was being used for storage and no one was living there. The homeowner was not immediately identified. Fire officials report the home is a total loss.
The cause of the fire will be investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
No injuries were reported.
