A Valley Head, Alabama man showed DeKalb County investigators where he hid a body in a 55-gallon drum and now faces murder charges.

Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a news release that investigators received a tip about a possible slaying that happened around two months ago. They went to County Road 9095 and interviewed Marcus Gordon Ricketts, and he led them to the body buried in the woods, Harris said.

"This subject has been missing since May and a missing person report was filed," he said. "We received information that this person had been possibly stabbed or struck with a blunt object, stuffed in a 55-gallon drum that was sealed at both ends and poured with loose concrete. It only took a short amount of time to locate the barrel."

Harris did not give the name of the missing person. He said the Alabama Department of Forensic Science is working to identify the body.
