Greeneville police are on the lookout for a man and woman who stole beer and steaks about 10 p.m. Wednesday from the Food City supermarket on Snapps Ferry Road.

A loss prevention employee told police that surveillance video shows a white woman and an African-American man enter the store together. The woman went down an aisle, selected hair care items and then concealed them, Officer Kristina St. Laurent said in a report.

The man took beer from a shelf and placed it in a backpack before both suspects went to the meat counter and placed seven ribeye steaks into the backpack with the beer, the report said.

The pair left the store at 10:17 p.m. without paying for the merchandise and were last seen walking east on Snapps Ferry Road.

The value of the stolen goods totals $145.36.
