An early morning fire damaged a house at 3106 E. 32nd St.
Responding to a call around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Chattanooga firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the house, which had been converted into two apartments.
Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire to the second floor. No injuries were reported.
Chief Chris Willmore said the apartments appeared to have been vacant for some time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
