Inmate returns to Hamilton County Jail after being treated for puncture wounds

UPDATE: A Hamilton County Jail inmate who was reportedly injured Saturday has been treated and returned to the jail, a sheriff's office spokesman said Monday.

Sheriff's spokesman Allen Branum said the wounds were superficial and did not cause serious injury.

Since there is a criminal review underway, no additional details can be released at this time, he said.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Hamilton County Jail inmate was treated for "puncture wounds," the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said Sunday.

It's not yet clear if the inmate has been released back to the jail, and the date for when the incident happened wasn't immediately clarified but was thought to have occurred on Saturday,

Another inmate is reportedly responsible for the injuries, sheriff's spokesman Allen Branum said.

"A criminal investigation was initiated, but [it's]not clear on details and no identifications will be released at this point," he said.
