Tennessee football program gets 11th commitment of 2019 recruiting class

KNOXVILLE - Tennessee picked up its 11th known commitment of the 2019 football recruiting class Sunday.

Jalil Clemons, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end and three-star recruit from Starkville, Mississippi, shared his decision on Twitter.

"The recruiting process has been crazy but with that being said I will be committing to the University of Tennessee," Clemons wrote in his announcement.

Verbal commitments are nonbinding, and Clemons' first opportunity to sign a national letter of intent will come in December. He is the third defensive lineman in Tennessee's recruiting class.

The Volunteers' class was ranked ninth in the SEC by 247Sports.com and Rivals.com on Sunday evening after Clemons committed.

"First I would like to thank my family, [coaches] and all the schools that have recruited me, and the Almighty God," Clemons wrote in his announcement. "I have worked for everything that I have gotten and it hasn't been easy but nothing great comes easy."
