Step back in time a few thousand years with primitive technology expert Scott Jones to learn about the technology used by the first inhabitants of Russell Cave near Bridgeport, Alabama.

Between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. CDT on July 7, Jones will demonstrate prehistoric skills including "fire-making and flint-knapping," and answer questions about the skills he shows off.

Officials said there is no set time for specific demonstrations so visitors can plan their visit to stay as long as they like.

Park Superintendent Steve Black suggests anyone interested in the event or the famous cave to sign up for updates and announcements on Facebook at RussellCaveNPS or call 256-495-2672 for more information.
