The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team earned an at-large bid to the Women's National Invitation Tournament and will travel to Conference USA member Alabama-Birmingham on Thursday.

It is the UTC program's seventh consecutive postseason appearance, with two WNIT trips sandwiched around five consecutive NCAA tournament appearances from 2013 to '17.

The UTC-UAB game time will be announced today.

UAB (26-6) won the C-USA regular season and earned an automatic WNIT bid, missing out on the NCAA tournament by falling to 72-57 to Western Kentucky in the conference tournament final. The Blazers' Randy Norton was voted Conference USA coach of the year, and UAB players Rachael Childress, Deanna Kuzmanic and Miyah Barnes were named all-conference.

The Mocs hold a 17-12 record and had four wins over teams in the Rating Percentage Index top 102, more than NCAA-bound Mercer (30-2) and fellow Southern Conference opponent East Tennessee State (20-11), another WNIT selection.

Mercer will face Georgia in the first round of the NCAA tournament. ETSU will travel to James Madison in the WNIT.
